Bruce Amrein is Worship Tech's Principal Technologist. He retired from an engineering career at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory where he led a team of researchers studying sensory perception. His primary area of research was in auditory performance of soldiers.In order to conduct this research he developed the concept, technical requirements, and initial design of the U.S. Army's Environment for Auditory Research (EAR). This $3.5 million indoor and outdoor research facility is unmatched world-wide--at any government, academic, or industrial site.
Throughout his career, Bruce designed and developed unique research facilities or custom instrumentation for use by Army researchers in support of U.S. and NATO soldiers. His skills in project management and facilities development have enabled the Army to improve and upgrade its physical plant and laboratories to provide excellent research facilities. This professional experience enabled him to assist his church in developing and executing facilities upgrades in a cost effective, fiscally sound and timely manner.
Over the last twenty-years Bruce has been responsible for all aspects of design, installation, and maintenance of audio and video systems at several churches. His diverse professional experience, technical skills and understanding of the worship environment make him uniquely qualified to provide technical consultation on all aspects of technology. A life-long Lutheran, he is a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Bel Air, Maryland.
Bruce graduated from Loyola University Maryland with a B.S. degree in Engineering/Physics. He also holds MBA and Master of Engineering Science degrees. Additionally, he holds a General (formerly First Class) Radiotelephone License issued by the Federal Communications Commission; has nine U.S. patents; and has published and presented scientific papers in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. He is an ANSI-accredited Certified Technology Specialist (CTS®).
